Well heres some art! woot! this was inspired by My Chemical Romance's new song Bullet Proof Heart.
Inspired by Gerard, Mikey, Frank, and Ray's enthusiasm and these lines:
Run away like it was yesterday
And we could run away
If we could run away,
Run away from here
I gotta bulletproof heart
You gotta hollow point smile
We had our run away scarves,
Got a photograph dream on the getaway mile.
Let's blow a hole in this town
And do our talking with the laser beam.
Coming out of this place
In a bullet's embrace
Then we'll do it again.

“I wish I had more quotes to put here” – Charlie McDonnell
Sorry to be a while, Loveys. I'm still working on the Site for artistic pursuits(which is almost done) and I'm working on getting a job. So busyness keeping me from really doing any good art. Here, though, is a drawing i did in church which looks suspiciusly like a girl i know named Larissa.
It is rather Cutesy and Laurelified but it looks like her a i-le bit. Larissa is in a band called BAD . I may be insane to think this looks like her... looked more like her yesterday...

"old habits die hard when you've got a Sentimental heart."- she and him
Sentimental Heart is what I'm calling this Series. Here is the second installment.
Torrey and I never took any pictures together so i didn't have much to go off of. luckily my mom sniped a picture of the ONE and ONLY time i have ever sat on my boyfriends lap in front of people. here it is:
needless to say the drawing is much more flattering.

"I'm a romantic; a sentimental person thinks things will last, a romantic person hopes against hope that they won't."~ F. Scott Fitzgerald
I've been in a sentimental mood for a few days now and i decided to act upon it and draw something. this is the first in a series of happy bits of the past. I'll soon color it and be very sad indeed =}
I actually went onto my facebook, found i picture that made me feel like crying and drew it. I didn't quite get his expression right but this is close enough for now. here is the original picture:
If you actually pay attention you'll see that i moved my position in the drawing, yes i meant to do that. i also switched hands and am wearing a different hat. *sigh* oh sentimental heart of mine... thou art cruel. =]

“Trying to make someone fall in love with you is about as pointless as trying to control who you fall in love with.” Unknown
So I realized today that its been 6 months. SIX MONTHS since my heart was broken and i think I'm doing just fine! well, your not interested in my personal life so I'll just get to the art. here is the first of a few dress designs. this one is cutesy heart themed.
it could be many different colores i just really like the blue. just so you know, if you hadn't noticed, the fancy side parts are upsidedown hearts.

"Objects in pictures should so be arranged as by their very position to tell their own story." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I've recently realized that, No, he has not for me, and neither was he. When I'm with someone I'm distracted from God and therefore unable to make good art. When I meet the man I'm to be with I believe he wont distract me from whats important. I hope he'll help me with my art, not drag me from it. That said I've finally finished the couch characters picture in my resent burst of inspiration. it's all colored!

I was at my friends house last night and i drew a very nice eye that turned into a very nice boy face that turned into a very nice Scene Girl. so here is my Scene girl.

Melancholia is my new favorite gal to draw for the moment. I dressed her rather well if I do say so myself =]
She's shy, jumpy, and perpetually saddened. I see her as the girl that all strong motherly types want to protect from the world. She is easily embarrassed but never lashes out, just shrinks into the background. When comfortable I'm sure she is super exited and bubbly.
this drawing got a bit smudged before it was scanned unfortunately.
I think i like here so much because she stands for my depression/suppression. for a few years now my friend Hannah has been calling me Melancholia when ever i am melancholy. this girl looks how i feel a lot of the time, especially for the past few months. well, July-September and now.

Oh dear... sad attempts at novel writeing...
I have been trying to write a book for a while now and since i haven't made much art lately i thought i'd give ya'll a sample of my horrid writeing. If you would like to critique it go ahead and comment. well, here ye be:
I stared out the cafeteria window at the misty playground. I was alone, musing to myself how the one day I didn’t have the guys watching over me was the one day I didn’t feel up to causing trouble. Opening my Scary Godmother lunchbox a stared at the unappetizing sandwich before me. Normally Patrick would have something scrumptious to share with me but, he was called away for some business trip that had nothing to do with him, again. Honestly, I thought, why does his Mom make him follow his “Father” on his “business trips” so much? What’s the big deal? This was, of course, one of those things I just wouldn’t ever understand. My parents were always pushing me away when I tried to bond. It got so bad I just quit. It was clear they wanted me to go away, but this is how life is with a lawyer and a cop as parents.
Jaick was, apparently, at home with the flu if teachers are to be trusted in this matter. I, of course, thought something bigger was afoot. Jaick just didn’t seem like the kind of guy who would get sick. I dunno how a guy can seem invincible but he did. It was much more likely he had found out about a secret showing of some “never before seen” episode of Red Dwarf in the next town over and hadn’t had time to tell me before he rushed off. I tapped my nails on the windowpane while my mind wandered. Something about the click of chipped silver nails on a window has always been soothing to me. I hammered out a few bars of the theme song for “the Bat” and wondered if Mrs. Raine would like a visit. She always invited me over when the boys went on hiatus. I decided to give her a visit.
I knocked on the old rickety door painted grey blue, to the great distress of the rest of the house, which was the color of butter. I heard her scuttle to the door and heard the high squeak of the bolts being slid out of the four dusty locks. It wasn’t that she was afraid of anyone coming in. She just loved the looks of locks. The door opened to show an old woman who looked an awful lot like a gypsy. Her silvery hair was pulled into a loose bun at the base of her neck and wisps of hair escaped to hang in small waves. Her somewhat tanned skin crackled like old leather when she grinned crookedly at me.
“Mina! Oh sweetie, I didn’t know you were coming. Come, come in! We must have some tea!” Mrs. Raine shooed me into the house and I was greeted by the scent of herbs. I made my way to the kitchen, brushing hanging scarves out of my way while the adorable old woman chattered on behind me. “-Great news! It’s so exiting! Oh sweetie if you knew you would be so exited too! I am just so glad you came over today. I was just trying to find your number to tell you-oh, do you want Earl Grey or one of my blends?” Suppressing a giggle I gestured to the beat up, old tin she was holding labeled ‘worms root’. She nodded and climbed down from her counter. She bustled about the kitchen, putting the kettle on, cutting up sandwiches, getting out the preserves, none of which she would let me help with. Every time I tried she would say “oh, sweet! You’re a guest! Sit, SIT!” and push me back into the oversized armchair. When I was little I liked to think she was the enchantress who cursed beast and she took the chair from the castle for his rudeness. I still felt small in it. Finally Mrs. Raine sat down.
“I’m sorry dear, I’ve been rude. How was your day?” she asked, pouring our tea in her mismatched tea set.
“It wasn’t very interesting, rather lonely, actually. Jaick and Patrick were both gone and as you know there aren’t very many sensible people in the school. What your good news?” I took a sip of my tea. It was Mrs. Raine’s special calming blend.
“My Great Niece called me a few hours ago! She’s coming back to live with me. I’m immensely looking foreword to it! Apparently her and her son have been having some trouble in LA with a rather nasty character. The second things are worked out they are going to drive out here. More tea?” I looked at my tea and realized I had drunk it all. I nodded and handed her the cup. As she filled it up she said, “David, my nieces son, is about your age-I think- and rather sensible last I checked. I haven’t seen them in such a long time. I’m sure you’ll get along swimmingly. Jaick and Patrick should like him too. Frankly I don’t know how I’d react if you didn’t get along. You’re the kind of kids he should be around, not to mention I am rather fond of all of you and will wish for you to come over quite often.”
“I’ll try to get the boys to come over with me sometime,” I assured her as I sipped from the chipped blue teacup I always drank from when I came over. We talked like this for hours.

"5 may, the peasents keep crossing themselves and weeping around me, ect...man, what is there DEAL!?"-Hark a Vagrant!
I was bored and decided to draw (of course), well it turned into Taylor. How could i resist drawing a super duper tall skater? that'd be insanaty! its much to good to resist! Meet my Bo! This kid (man i guess) is superly duperly tall. like, 6'8'. apparently one isn't supost to be able to skate if taller then 5'11" because of balence, but he manages....Yay skaters! the shirt is for a band called Sonic Youth by the way. i dunno the band or if he owns this shirt in real life or not, but he said he likes them and this is what the shirt looks like.

Welcome to the Fright Side!
Jill Thompson wrote a scary godmother book called "Scary Godmother and the Mystery Date". this book always made me want Bug-A-Boo to be the guy. its probably because of beauy and the beast that i always want the perdy lady to end up with the harry monster. Also Bug-A-Boo seemed to like her. he was one of the many guys flocking to her house in the book... it would be so sweet...

"Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you." Marsha Norman
these are two more of my characters. Shelly the is 19 and from lynchberge, VA and her 16 year old cousin Sasha.
Originally Shelly was a Fairy Godmother for one of my characters but as my story got less fantastical she became normal but motherly.
Sasha was originally a half snake girl that Patrick ran into on a trip with his "father". She was also normalized when the story changed. now she's just incredibly shy and has the cutest lisp ever.

“I went to the park and saw this kid flying a kite. The kid was really excited. I don't know why, that's what they're supposed to do. Now if he had had a chair on the other end of that string, I would have been impressed.” Mitch Hedberg
"Floating and fighting, like a kite on a string
Till you cut through my tether and changed everythingFrom the sky you looked small, but I loved you the same
So I darted back quickly to spell out your name
And when they say that I'm just a terrible kite
You'll tell them you're proud of my marvelous flight"
I don't have much to say about her. this is an illustration for Kite by Copeland. i was just trying to get the feeling of the song into the painting. this song always makes me want to cry even though the lyrics are kind of happy. this is the first full painting since i was a sophomore in high school.

Frankly i have tried to type my feelings and thoughts about dance several times now and i can't manage it. I found a song though that pretty much expresses what i feel. its called One Step Closer and is from the broadway musical The Little Mermaid.
It comes when Ariel is at the castle and trying to talk to Eric but can't. Eric sings this song.

I'm working on something that i will think is awesome. till i finnish it and show it to you i shall post a seris of random sketches including fire plants, random feelings and the like.
I awoke this morning to my bedroom feeling rather hot. being as it is summer i thought nothing of it. when i opened my door, though, i was met by a burst of frigid air. my dear mummy had the house at 50 degrees. there fore i spent the entirety of the day wrapped up in scarves and gloves and sweatpants. this, of course was a terrable inconvenience when my dad wanted me to go with him to get my car and it was 70 to 80 something outside.
this is my first water color in two years. its of Mina. i'm rather proud. yet again, this does look so much better in real life.

“A man with an obsession is a man who has very little sales resistance.” C.S. Lewis
Once upon a school day a dear friend of mine and I were at the park by our school dancing around trying to get it to rain (or something to that effect) when we noticed a group of squirrels sneaking up on a poor defenceless Ginger in the pavilion doing school. They would come together and then separate, hiding behind trashcans as they went. We started speculating on why he was their target. He posed no threat that we could see.
"maybe they think he's a tree. he is tall."-H
"but he has that flaming red main. why would he look like a tree?" -L
"...on fire?"-H
"oh my gosh! they think he's a Fire Tree! he's gonna catch all the other nice trees on fire, destroying their homes! they must get rid of him!"-L
"what if they think he's a god? like a special tree because it can be on fire and not burn up."-L
"they could think he is in danger of being put out if it rains...'We Must Protect the FIRETREE!!' "-H
Needless to say, as we were silly high school girls, we started referring to him as the firetree. We did it more because of the happy memory of our goofy conversation then because of him. Soon the FireTree was its own entity outside of our friend (at least in my mind). A few months later i dated this nice young man who was a natural redhead. I was goofing off with one friends and referring to him as a FireShrub because he was to short to be a tree. Thus another Fiery plantae was born. My dear friend/co-creator of Fire plants pointed out that i, too, was a redhead but i wasn't natural. I dyed my hair read, so i was a different kind of fire plant. I sort of leached off the greatness of the redheads so i was a Vine, FireVine. Thus An innocent goof off launched a strange obsession. We now refer (sometimes) to these three redheads as the FirePlantae. Mostly my friend refers to me.
I decided that these sounded like very beautiful plants. Now they are characters in my mind with personality's that are similar to the people they were created after. Here is a quick sketch of the first born one:
I did this in 20 minutes so yes, it looks terrable. I decided that if the point of the FireTree is that its tall why not make it the tallest tree in the world? Yes dear readers, this is a quick attempt at a Redwood.

Today my Creative Genius jumped out of the window (yet again) and broke his leg. This then depressed my Muse and she shut herself in a closet. my Concentration was pissed at how pathetic they both were and shut himself in his room to read. so here i am trying to get something done and i cant. so here is a very low quality picture i started on Sunday morning. its an illustration of the random stuff that runs around in my mind..so it's a self portrait...kinda. another kinda self portrait. my scanners being a jerk today to so I'll post the rest of the photo later.

“Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.” -Rose Franken
Today was yet another day of envy. i saw a lot of adorable couples and thought "wow... i have never been that cute with anyone I've dated" . So, I draw adorable people doing something besides kissing or standing.
I've been trying new couple poses. also new ways of drawing hair. first was the curly hair (previous entry), now straight. soon i shall draw dreads and waves.
yes i know its to big but i wanted you to see his freckles...yay freckles! I'm rather proud of the girls expression. this is the first time i think i actually got the emotion across. Also her shoes are great in my opinion! I'm as bad at shoes as hands. Hands are the bane of my existence still, though i drew em without a reference this time. again my poor guy is wearing a t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt under it. my men dress so lamely. =] but then again he's adorable so lame clothes are OK. well maybe he isn't lamely dressed but not as creatively on my part as the girl is.

A toast to love whose requitment is somewhat questionable and to love whose requitment is very much known one way or the other
After watching chick flicks with a lovely friend of mine, I've realized that love is one of those things you can never know about. One can spend all their time daydreaming and fantasizing about a person they can't possibly have because of some little slightly suspicious thing they said. A person can't possibly know who to like, if it could possibly be love, weather it could ever happen...anything really. You could spend all your time mooning over one person while the person of your dreams is there next to you comforting you when it doesn't work, asking "why do you go for these people when you know good people are all around you?". The right person for you could be on the sidelines just waiting for you to stop obsessing over that other person. The right person could not know your right for them when you've been dreaming about them all the while.
Some things are obvious. If you never talk to the person then it wont work. If someone really likes you they are gonna show it in some way. People will ALL WAYS read to far into things. If you spend all your time around them then most likely something will happen at some point, weather it will amount to anything later is another matter.
Then we have when a person is a huge part of your life and suddenly disappear, what the heck do you do then? Keep dreaming? most of the time that's just painfully unproductive. But then there are people who find this the most comfortable way to approach feelings. Not having hope of something happening could help them just enjoy the warm feeling of loving the absent person. Being able to like (love?) without having to worry about messing it up or the person not being who they thought they were is very comforting sometimes.
Of course then we have the issue of how seemingly imposable things happen all the time. People end up dating the person they have liked for a very longtime, who were uninterested and several years older, maybe in an entirely different social group. A couple could actually fall in love from across the country, maybe across the sea. Like they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder". If one person being in one place and the other was in another was a real reason for affection to not count then how the heck does being married/ dating an Army person work? It wouldn't! They are proof that seemingly impossible things can happen. But if these impossible things happen then there really is no hope that we as poor little students of love could know anything. It seems to me that the best thing to do is just roll with it. You like someone? Well let yourself like them. If you slip up and say something to them when you don't want to just go with it. Who knows, maybe they are the one, maybe they aren't. You just have to try... and this turned out much longer then expected. i apologize for the length of this considering i didn't end up saying much.

"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain
Whilst i was sick my loverly friend Hannah told me to draw a giraffe. i have never drawn a giraffe before... it was a humbling experience.

I've been listening to a lot of Traveling songs lately. Ah, the call of the Airport! Really I'm starting to get tired of Colorado. I normally go on at least one trip a summer because of ARTistic Pursuits Inc. (my parents Art curriculum company). I work for them and they normally need me to help work a conference but this year I wasn't needed. Now I'm itching to go somewhere. So from this need to go somewhere and habit of listening to traveling music (most of which is written/sung by Michael Nesmith) I have created a girl with a guitar in an airport.
I'm rather proud of the guitar in this picture, though its simple. Its the first time I've drawn an instrument (besides a drum set) since 7th grade...actually more like 6th.

"So to who I used to be and the life I thought I wanted, Goodbye."
I was just listening to my Itunes when a song my brother had given me came on. It made me cry, truly, for the first time since the break up. It was Brightest by Copeland. I suddenly got this image in my head and had to draw it. This is a self portrait of sorts. The stuffed dragon's name is Risa. My boyfriend gave her to me for valentines day this last year. So here it is. The Goodbye to Torrey. Maybe the first of a few but I'm still saying goodbye.
"If you find yourself here on my side of town
I'd pray that you'd come to my door
Talk to me like you don't know what we ever fought about
Cause I don't remember anymore
I just know that she warms my heart
And knows what all my imperfections are
And she said that I was the brightest little firefly in her jar
And I just know that she warms my heart
And knows what all my imperfections are
And she says that I am the brightest little firefly in her jar"

"For who could ever learn to love a Beast?"
"I can! I can!"-Ariel and Laurel inunison
My sister and i always wondered why the Prince that Beast turns into is always uglyer then the Beast he was before. this happened not only in the Disney one but the ballet, the Fairytale Theatre, and silent versions. i decided to make a version of beauty and the beast that remadyed that. in my version Belle turns into a beast instead of beast becomeing a man.
i am currently trying to draw a picture of Belle (non-Monster-itized) asleep in beasts arms. this is the quick planning sketch (above).
